Claiming your Home Owner Grant has never been easier. With every city and municipality in the lower mainland now online, it’s a matter of a couple clicks.

**Even if your property taxes are collected and paid by your mortgage lender, this step must be done by you – DON’T forget to do this!**

It’s very important to take care of this step before July 3, 2018, ensuring you don’t miss out on your government grant for occupying your owned residence. The basic grant saves you $570 (or $845 if you’re a senior) off your total tax bill! There are different types of grants available – check if you qualify here:

Make sure you have your Property Tax Notice in front of you, because you’ll need your Folio No. and Access Code in order to apply for the grant.

Claiming your Home Owner Grant in 5 Simple Steps:

    1. Find your tax bill
    2. Head to your city or municipalities website (eg. www.surrey.ca) and look for the “claim your home owner grant online” link or button
    3. Enter in your Folio No. and Access Code (Found at the top of your Tax Notice)
    4. Fill out the attestation form, to confirm your current residency:
    5. Follow the prompts to confirm & print (or save as PDF) for your records.
